My Dream

This is my dream that my Wife, Tina insisted I pursue, which I totally appreciate her for.....

I used to work for the City Of Crown Point In (Public Works), and retired from a Crew Leader position, due to certain circumstances.

I decided to pursue what I always wanted to do, and what was a hobby, small engine repairs. I used to work with my Dad in the garage from the time I was 8 working on stuff, and have always had a “ knack “ and talent for it, if I can’t get it to run.  It’s junk is my saying.

I also want to provide people with an option other than the local repair shops, which if your lucky, you’ll get put on a waiting list, and will get charged a ridiculous amount for labor. I charge less than half, and have an almost instant turn around time, at most, a week in the worst case scenario.

I aim to provide the best, fastest most affordable service in the small engine repair service industry, and look forward to your patronage.

New Motor for ZTR

My Zero Turn mower wouldn’t start, could not determine why. I took it to Michael, and he discovered the engine blew a hole behind the starter. Michael was able to find me a brand-new motor for my mower. He did a complete system check cleaned everything up and even added lights to the front. When the motor came in, he installed and tested it. He turned this entire thing around in record time and kept me apprised of ever step of the process.

Michael provides “Old Schoolcustomer service, the kind that we grew up with that I had thought no longer existed. Michel proved that taking care of your customer does still exist. With this he has gained a customer for life, and I will recommend him to everyone.

My mower is running better than ever, I even cut grass last night after the sun went down thanks to the bright lights.

MiTi’s Small Engine Repair Service & Michael are one of a kind.

fast turnaround

took in my self-propelled Honda & had it back working in a week! Any place else was either not taking any new mowers-too full or was 5-6 wks out. Good work & fair price

Mike is a knowledgeable down to earth person, took a generator and a chainsaw there fixed in a short time. I would trust Mike to fix any small engine piece of equipment.

25 HP Craftsman Tractor Rebuild

Trusted Mike with my 10+ year old 25 HP Craftsman riding lawn tractor that leaked oil, wouldn’t start, loose steering and survived a leaf fire with damage to wiring. Had my doubts at first and minor interlock problems when received, that Mike fixed on the spot. Each time I’ve been using it, it runs like it charm and have had no service related problems. Got it back clean and believe me it has tough terrain to mow, tow and haul this old dog. Engine should last longer than me now it has new head gaskets, wiring tightened steering and lubricated joints. Might consider annual maintenance and have more small engine tools to service but first have to resolve a weird rubbing sound.

Mike had all winter to make repairs and delivered just in time for me to cut the grounds after the spring flowers bloomed. Good timing and cost effective results verses buying a new comparative tractor.

Excellent work!!!

Excellent work!!! I was expecting I would find some one to get my riding lawn mower running, and he did. What I wasn’t expecting was all the extra attention to detail. Oil changed, filter, fuel filter, front end and steering lubed, axles lubed, & blades sharpened….

Price was more than reasonable, and the work was done fast.

I’ll be using mitis again for my broken-down snow blower come fall.

Aaron Bendel

Very Happy!

Mike was able to service my snowblower and have it ready the same day!! Starts on the 1st pull now
Very nice, honest, down to earth man!

Mike is a class act

I took two pieces of equipment to Mike a chain saw and a rototiller. He called me right away and told me the chain saw was a very poorly made model and it would not be economical to put money into it they are known for breaking down often. Most places would have taken advantage of a woman, Mike is a class act.

Something to keep in mind....and I know better....my log splitter has a basically new engine, probably less than 3hrs....ran fine last fall....sat in the shed, just tried to fire it up.....nope....wouldn't fire on it's own without starting fluid help, when it did, smelled like bad gas...stunk, and won't stay running....so....the fresh gas I put in last fall already turned to shit, and now have to pull the carb and clean.....DO NOT leave gas in ANY of your lawn equipment, pressure washers, mowers, tractors, generators for more than 30 days.....And I know better.....still did it any way tho....and DO NOT use the snake oil " fuel stabilizers " because they don't work and all failed real world tests....and some can actually cause more harm than help....... drain the fuel tank, and run it out of gas.....spray some WD 40 in the carb throat, pull it a few times, and you'll be good for the next season...The WD40 will keep the seals and O-rings lubed so they don't dry out and crack...and, the first next season start up, use 2 stroke gas it lubes the cylinder, and the valve train....you don't have to fill the tank.....just enough to run it for a few.....then put fresh gas in.....as I said, I know better, and failed to follow my own advice....I may learn eventually..... ...
